What Causes Back Pain?
Some back pain can be a result of injury or direct trauma to the area; however, quite often the underlying cause of back pain is not obvious and builds over time. Some episodes of back pain develop as a result of poor functioning of the spine during an individual’s day-to-day life. These dysfunctions could result from poor posture at work or while sleeping, introduction or reduction of exercise, or repetitive lifting. Ocassionally there will be a structural cause for back pain, such as a disc injury.
If the nerves leaving the spine are affected, it can cause pain into the legs known as sciatica..
